YELLOWSTONE-GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARKS
May 2021
Bison and Snow Squalls, and Bears, Oh My!
Springtime in Wyoming can be challenging. Our May photo shoot in Tetons and Yellowstone Parks dished out every weather condition imaginable: hail, snow, sleet, rain, and occasionally, a few beams of sunshine! Joe and I welcomed the variety because, as every photographer knows, bald blue skies aren't necessarily your best friend. If you want a little drama in your landscapes nothing beats a good storm! Of course, keeping ones camera dry and fingers from freezing is another matter. The goal of this photo shoot was to see grizzlies, fresh from hibernation with cubs in tow, and new-born Bison, affectionately called "Red Dogs". We were quite pleased with the cooperation we got from our furry friends. It was a thrill to observe and photo these beautiful animals...at a safe distance. Thank goodness for long telephoto lenses!
