MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK
Sept 2021 The volcano was exploding... in color! Autumn is absolutely my favorite time of year to visit Mount Rainier. The mountain slopes are carpeted in blueberry and huckleberry bushes ablaze in vivid reds and oranges. Mountain Elderberry and Ash are festooned in clusters of red berries and yellow foliage adding to the riot of color. Then, if you're lucky, a dusting of snow or a morning fog will provide the perfect conditions for some really, really good photography. We gorged ourselves for two days of hiking and "fwapping" (our nickname for taking photos aca. my dad, Dick) Life just doesn't get much better than this! |
