Taking a flight-seeing tour in a 4 seater helicopter and landing on the Knik Glacier has got to be one of our most memorable adventures in Alaska. This 25 mile river of ice is located only an hour from Anchorage and is easily accessible from the little town of Palmer.
Our competent, and extremely young, pilot flew us at low altitudes up the valley and across the impressive ice field. Filled with crevasses it appeared impossible to land, but he was able to put down in several locations giving us stunning vistas to photo.
