AUTUMN Denali National Park, Alaska

Alaska has a way of becoming an obsession.  This is our 5th trip in six years and already, we are planning the next!  Denali in the fall, with fabulous color and a few moose mixed in!  Because it was late in the season, and few tour busses were in operation we were able to drive our private vehicle further into the park.  Unfortunately, a landslide destroyed the road near Polychrome Pass blocking access to a large portion of the park.  We were, however, able to explore the first 30 or so miles and luxuriate in the deep reds, yellows, and oranges of ground cover blanketing vast expanses of wilderness.  So late in the season there were very few visitors, we practically had the place to ourselves.  It's a great time, just before the snows to see this beautiful park.
